I'm back wid a Bang!

The title says it all.. Yippee! I'm outta hell( best way to describe exams).. Well, whatt next in these holidays?as usual sleeping , hogging ,orkutting , chatting .. pretty much the same routine..
Eventually, thought of addin a post to my blog.

Lately,CNN-IBN has launched a new show on air called Citizen Journalist (C.J) where in we the people can publish our thoughts by sending videos,pictures.. about any injustice in the society, illegal activities taking place in college campuses, environmental problems etc. This initiative could be an eye-opener to the authorities who are misusing their power and at the same time an opportunity in looking forward to a whole new vision in the field of Journalism.

Flip side of the coin, does this concept of journalism rule out the fact that journalists who bring out the ground reality behind an incident are not upto the mark? well, the answer is a undisputed NO!The show has drawn the attention of the people within no time. The few episodes that I have seen were thought provoking, one of which was about this Educational Institution in Punjab called Lovely University where in two students were swindled by making them pay money n denying the seat which they opted for during the admission process and this lead to the student dropping out for 1 yr.. quite a few students were unhappy over the progess of the hostels in the campus as they didnt have adequate facilities and they were made to stay at some leased buildings outside the campus.

The other story was about this special child who was refused to board a flight and the parents of the child shot the whole scene on camera and produced it as a video to the channel. Thus, the fact of ill treating a child(a social crime) was brought into lime light.

Sensitive issues like the Nandigram voilence and the protests made by many writers, actors, artists n few influential people of West Bengal was also aired on the channel. Aparna Sen(a veteran director and famed artist both in bollywood n regional bengali movies)gave a report on the situation.Though I haven't watched many episodes,I can surely tell its an interesting way in promoting journalism in the country and enlighting people about the happenings in the society and making them realise that,WE THE CITIZENS should thrive towards making this world a better place to live in without creating any hassles to fellow human beings.

P.S:This post is just an outline and my way of analyzing the show, tho' this isn't an informative one...as I always feel "A well begun job is half way done":)

High Performance.Delivered.

3-2 exams were done on 15th of May and we were informed that CTS is visiting our campus on 21st May.My parents were to leave for Kolkata and I had to stay back at my aunt's place to attend the interview. The 1 week of my stay at aunt's place,I was dawdling the hours away. I was procastinating to prepare my resume` coz I wasn't sure of the format.Just before the day of interview I put up something relavant to a sample resume` that i nicked from a mail I had.

The day of the interview turned out to be bitter and sad, because I got kicked out in the 1st round-written test.I was looking forward to the next company.Wipro was lined up next on 2nd June and to my bad luck or may be lack of preparation couldn't help me clear even the written. I decided to prepare well for the next company and din't let my confidence go down tho' I felt bad for few days.

Infosys was next on the list which came on 18th June. I started my preparation, took tips from people who cracked the interview and stuff(basically did lot of ground work). It was a pool campus. The hardwork din't pay and the saga of melancholy continued to haunt me.I was bent upon not to attend any more campus interviews and wanted to give my GRE and go abroad for further studies tho' my parents were totally against this thought of mine.

I was forced to attend yet another interview .Syntel-By now you guys must have lost the count..lemme help you'll..this was the 4th company.Apparently, the company din't want ppl from my branch(E.I.E) but we wanted to give a try, even this was a pool campus. The test was quite easy and I was confident, but fate had a different story in store for me.We waited for 3-4 hrs after the test and finally they declared that they din't wanna take ppl from e.i.e.This time, I wasn't dejected coz I got used to the fact.

Accenture, was also a pool campus(around 23 colleges participated),the test and interview were scheduled on 2 different dates. On the day of the test I was ill but somehow managed to write it well. The day after the test, I came to know that I cleared it.Yipee, finally a ray of hope! Group discussion followed by a tech and hr interview and Yeahhh!!!! I got thru'.

"Better Late Than Never" truly pertinent in my case..!

T20 World Cup a Marketing Gimmick?

Cricket began with test matches way back in the 19th century and the game has improved by leaps and bounds over the years. The game has lot more to offer in the future not just to the players involved but also to the business tycoons all over the world.T20 is one such tournament where the mettle of the player is put under a litmus test.

The WC'07 didn't witness a mammoth crowd as expected by the ICC and the funds which were put into the game didn't yield expected results. T20, started in2003 ,when a match took place between England and Wales Cricket Board. ICC wanted to experiment a different version of the game in the form of a World Cup.Lately, South Africa, has become a hub for all the famed marketing brands and it was chosen as the venue.

13 days of exuberance, excitement with a blend of dissappointments came to end on 24th of Sept'07 and THE CRICKET CRAZY NATION-INDIA emerged victorious. The accolades received by the team is innumerable. There are lot of questions being raised about the essense of the game being lost in the process of retaining the enthusiasm of the crowd and I believe tht cricket is a source of entertaintment for ppl of any generation. So, no matter what the version of the game is, it has been fervently followed. All forms of media, be it electronic or print is been promoting the game like a sweet vemon in the minds of the public.

Indian team has been followed by the media like a watchdog since their arrival from South Africa. The team was made to travel in an open air bus from the Mumbai airport to Wankede stadium.Team India truly rocks to da beats of ChakDe and even the marketing, advertising brands have seen a boom in their field. On the whole, T20 has been a package of all the aspects and certainly paves way for another competition of its kind.
